HemiCAP Knee Condyle – surface endoprosthesis of the knee joint

Implant for the reconstruction of focal osteochondral defects on the femoral condyle up to 2 cm.

Advantages:

  • individual selection and adjustment of the implant to the size and shape of the patient’s joint,
  • significantly less cartilage and bone tissue removed than in traditional joint replacement,
  • “in-lay” technique, i.e. sinking the implant into the joint so that it is flush with the surrounding cartilage and not on the surface – thanks to this technique, the pressure exerted on the adjacent articular surfaces does not change,
  • preservation of the motor function and primary structures of the joint, which prevents irreversible changes from being introduced,
If the implant needs to be replaced, it is possible to install a primary joint endoprosthesis rather than a revision prosthesis.

Indications:
reconstruction of focal osteochondral defects on the femoral condyle up to 2 cm.

Components:

  • cap – condyle component of the distal femur (asymmetric and symmetric cap), in 4-5 shapes, with a diameter of 15 mm or 20 mm, made of CoCrMo alloy, on the side in contact with the bone, sputtered with CPTi titanium,
  • titanium mounting screw.
