Motec® – wrist joint arthrodesis

The Motec® wrist arthrodesis system has been developed to allow the modification of the Motec® total wrist prosthesis into a wrist arthrodesis. The system is based on replacing the moving parts of the wrist prosthesis (acetabulum, head) while retaining the previously implanted stems, resulting in the possibility of preserving a significant portion of the patient’s own bone.
Depending on the case of the patient requiring arthrodesis, we have two solutions available with different angles, based on previously implanted Motec® prosthesis components. This makes the procedure of modifying the prosthesis for arthrodesis a minimally invasive procedure, providing stable and permanent stiffening of the joint.

Two minimally invasive solutions are offered: Double Taper Straight and Double Taper Angled.
