Motec – wrist joint arthrodesis

The Motec wrist arthrodesis system has been developed to allow the modification of the Motec total wrist prosthesis into a wrist arthrodesis. The system is based on replacing the moving parts of the wrist prosthesis (acetabulum, head) while retaining the previously implanted stems, resulting in the possibility of preserving a significant portion of the patient’s own bone.
Depending on the case of the patient requiring arthrodesis, we have two solutions available with different angles, based on previously implanted Motec prosthesis components. This makes the procedure of modifying the prosthesis for arthrodesis a minimally invasive procedure, providing stable and permanent stiffening of the joint.

Two minimally invasive solutions are offered: Double Taper Straight and Double Taper Angled.
