HemiCAP Toe DF – hemi-prosthesis of the first metatarsophalangeal joint
The first metatarsophalangeal joint implant is a technologically advanced system designed to adapt to the shape and profile of the cartilage surface. It is a profiled cap that covers the area of damaged cartilage, intended to protect the remaining (healthy) cartilage of the joint.
Indications:
stiff hallux, hallux limitus, hallux valgus, as well as an unstable or painful metatarsophalangeal joint.
Components:
- cap (asymmetric and symmetric) – articular component of the metatarsal bone made of CoCrMo alloy, sprayed with CPTi titanium on the side in contact with the bone,
- titanium mounting screw.
The instrumentation allows the prosthesis to be placed using the “in-lay” technique – after implantation, the surface of the prosthesis becomes flush with the surface of the cartilage.
