On September 16 this year, the world’s first simultaneous revision of the anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments using the Z-lig product took place at Warsaw’s Medicover Hospital. In a 21-year-old patient, the operation was performed by Dr. Adrian Rymarczyk.
Z-Lig is a biological scaffold designed for full reconstruction of a ruptured cruciate ligament. Using a patented process, the tissue used for xenotransplantation is “humanized” so it can be safely implanted. After implantation, it blends into human tissue while providing mechanical stability.
