HemiCAP PFXL Wave – patellofemoral joint endoprosthesis

The implant is used to treat osteochondral defects in the area of the knee joint on the femoral trochlea and patella. It is a technologically advanced system created to recreate the shape and profile of the cartilage surface, individually for each patient. The instrumentation allows the implant surface to be flush with the cartilage surrounding the implant, so that the anatomy and the pressure exerted remain unchanged.

Indications:
treatment of osteochondral defects in the area of the knee joint on the femoral trochlea and patella.

Components:

  • cap of the intercondylar recess of the distal femur made of CoCrMo alloy, sprayed with CPTi titanium on the side in contact with the bone, in 8 shapes,
  • titanium mounting screw,
  • patella component made of UHMWPE polyethylene in 3 shapes.

The instrumentation allows the prosthesis to be placed using the “in-lay” technique – after implantation, the surface of the prosthesis becomes flush with the surface of the cartilage.
